The History Of Mobile Phones

Who would have thought that the company which produced the first mobile phone would be in the position of renouncing at the mobile phone market? No one, that’s for sure. Motorola is the mobile phone brand which produced the first portable device. It was launched on April 3, 1973 and its inventor, Dr. Martin Cooper was the first person who made the first call. But the thing is that he called his rival, Joel Engel which was also trying in that period to produce a mobile phone. He made that call in order to inform his rival that he has beaten him. But in order to be able to speak about mobile phones we must speak about the History of Mobile Phones.

Although the first device was produced in 1973 the first device which could be bought by people was launched in 1983. It was the year when FFC has approved this special device which simplified all our lives. Although it was quite big and heavy, this first device, Motorola Dyna TAC wasn’t so appreciated by the people thanks to its dimensions, but the specialists considered it a true invention and it was appreciated at its true value. This first device was quite expensive, not everybody could afford buying one such device. It coasted $3995 and it used to weight almost one kg.

But this Motorola Dyna TAC wasn’t the only device form this series. Between 1983- 1989 there were launched other five Dyna TAC models, but at the end of 1989 they were replaced by a more performed terminal, Motorola MicroTAC 9800x. Micro TAC was the representative mobile phone of the ’80. It was available in seven versions and it was sold till 1991. If you were one of those who thought that Nokia produced the first mobile phone you were wrong. Motorola produced it. Nokia produced the first mobile phone in 1992; Nokia 1011 which was launched 9 years later after the first Dyna TAC mobile phone was launched.

Nokia 1011 had smaller dimensions and that’s why people bought it, because they could take it with them all the time. 1994 was an impressive year for Nokia because it was launched Nokia 2100, the first mobile phone which had the famous Nokia Tune Ringtone but it also presented data transfer, fax and messages. This device was the dream of every mobile phone consumer.

But Nokia and Motorola weren’t the only mobile phone producers. Once this market expanded, brands like Samsung, LG and Sony Erickson appeared. What are the most famous Samsung mobile phones? Which were the mobile phones which managed capturing the consumers’ attention? 2002 was an important year for Samsung because it has managed to launch impressive mobile phones, A800 and Samsung E700. 2008 was probably the most important year because it has launched Samsung Omnia, the first touch screen mobile phone of the company. Nokia, Samsung and Motorola are just a few of the total number of mobile phone producers which tried to offer the best to its consumers. Every year they try to offer a new gadget to its consumers which will beat the previous one.
