To understand better the statement of “mobile phones with 3g” we must understand what 3G means and then talk about the phones that are equipped with such kind of technology.



3G or 3^rd Generation is the abbreviation from International Mobile Telecommunications and means that having 3G technology incorporated in your mobile phone you can make wireless voice and video calls, and to send and receive data. Comparing 3G to 2G we can observe that the 3G network speed is higher and more efficient.

Some of the advantages that 3G offers are the possibility to watch TV on your mobile device, to make a video conference or even to get your current location. 2G networks were built mainly for voice services and slow data transmission. The introduction of General Packet Radio Service or in its shorter name GPRS, was the first big step in the transition from 2G network services to 3G. The GPRS could provide medium speed in its services like wireless connections, multimedia messaging services, and for Internet communications services like email and the World Wide Web access.

3G technologies enabled faster data-transmission speeds, greater network capacity and more advanced network services.  The first pre-commercial 3G network launched in May 2001 by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. The network was branded as FOMA. Following the first pre-commercial launch, NTT DoCoMo again made history with the first commercial launch of 3G in Japan on Oct. 1, 2001.

Nowadays, technology wants to advance to 4G networks, an extension of 3G. This extension is called Long Term Evolution and Ultra mobile Broadband. The first 4G services were offered at the end of the year 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo, Norway.

Let's see now the mobile phones with 3G network. To have 3G services, you must have a good mobile phone preferably a smartphone that offers you many benefits. Using such a phone you can surf the Internet very quickly, send emails, and send or receive video calls from different people. Having a video call means that you can see the other persons face it he can see your face too but making possible a video call you are required to have a mobile phone which has two cameras, each one on the both sides.. on the back and front. When you make a video call you must use the front camera which is specially made just for this.

In the present, almost all mobile phone users have one or more mobile phones with 3G network because of the worlds globalization and the need of people for more and more communication between each other even though they are in the other part of the world. Having a mobile phone is good but having one with 3G and internet services active is great.
