If you are interested in using such a service, you should visit the website dedicated to Verizon Family Locator and locate in the “Get Started” section placed on the left side of the website the “Sign In” option. If you don’t already have an account, you will have to create it and read carefully the terms and condition involved as well as the value of the fee you will have to pay monthly ($9.99). It can also provide information about your family’s location, and your current location and record tracks that you can analyze later. This app allows you to share your location with your friends and updates positions every 5 seconds.

You should also take a closer look at iWant which is a great app, able to offer details about your surroundings. For example, if you go on hiking trips in unknown places, this app will help you find the nearest restaurant, gas station or hospital. You can limit yourself to the free version of the app because it’s well featured and can retrieve the information of interest in just a few seconds.

I can’t forget about GPS-R which is one of my favorite GPS apps for the iPhone because it detects where you are going and notifies you if you’re passing near an area from where you can buy a book you need or pay your bills. This app is a great combination between GPS and a to-do list. With the help of this app you will complete tasks faster.

Calendars are extremely useful for those who have a busy professional and social life, because they represent a reliable organization tool. By making them available on your smartphone, you will be able to keep your schedule under control even when you’re on the go and you will be able to set reminders in order to make sure you don’t forget about important events. Because calendars are so useful, every mobile platform integrates a built-in version. If you aren’t satisfied with that version you should consider the free calendars that the market makes available for different mobile phone platforms.

If you own an Android smartphone, one of the calendars that you can download for free is AnCal. This calendar comes with a simple design and is compatible in style with the old version of Palm WebOS. However, you shouldn’t think that the simple design is not capable of performance. You will discover the possibility to handle appointments, schedule tasks and even take notes. The only downside is that AnCal is not designed to sync with Google Calendar. However, I think that the simple interface that allows you to schedule tasks and alarms compensates to some extent that downside.

Another free calendar that you can use on an Android smartphone is Jorte. This calendar is similar to a personal organizer and is designed to seem as similar as possible to a paper planner. The goal is achieved not by adding paper animations, but by offering functionalities that are similar to what traditional calendars can offer. Also worth mentioning is the CSV importing support that’s extremely useful, especially for business purposes. In my opinion Jorte is the type of calendar that should be added on large smartphones.

If you own an iPhone, you will also be able to download calendars for free. The variety is not very wide, but it doesn’t lack either. One of the examples I can provide is the Cozi Family Organizer. This calendar is designed to help family members synchronize their calendar. The iPhone version offers just a list view. What compensates for this downside is the app’s ability to synchronize with its Web version. When you switch to a computer, the color-coded interface makes it very clear what each member of the family is supposed to do in a certain day and at a certain hour. Both the app and the web service come for free, so you should definitely consider Cozi Family organizer if you are interested in a family solution.

It will be the perfect high end device for those who care for nature and its resources.

I should also mention the Nokia 82 Dragonfly concept phone which is designed by Reginald Shola Hingston. This phone will come with an outstanding design that will resemble a dragonfly. It will feature a big touchscreen, a numeric keypad, a great camera and an easy-to use navigation mechanism. This concept phone will definitely catch your attention if someday will be released on the market.

The Nokia Transparent touchscreen concept is another bold Nokia concept and was designed by Juan Garzon. It will have only a switch on/off button on its front surface because the rest of the phone will be transparent. It will feature a big transparent touchscreen that will occupy the entire front surface of the device and a 5MP camera. I should mention that even if this smartphone seams unrealistic, it’s based on current technology, so you can never now.

These are only a few of the Nokia concept phones that caught my attention.

The 369MHz processor is powerful enough to allow you to use various apps designed for Symbian mobile phones.
